On March 3, 2025, the Founders Club, in collaboration with the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (DEI), SRM IST, proudly hosted the much-anticipated IdeaSpark – Edition 2025. This ideathon brought together some of the brightest student innovators on campus to pitch their ideas, challenge boundaries, and reimagine the future.

What is IdeaSpark?

True to its name, IdeaSpark is where imagination meets execution. It is a platform designed to help students transform raw ideas into structured, impactful solutions. Unlike a typical classroom exercise, IdeaSpark simulates a real startup pitching environment—demanding clarity, creativity, and conviction. Whether it’s an individual participant or a team of three, every innovator gets an opportunity to stand on stage, face evaluators, and defend their vision.

Themes That Matter

This year, IdeaSpark invited participants to innovate around some of the most pressing and futuristic domains, including:

• IoT-driven Automation

• Open Innovation

By opening the floor to these categories, the event ensured that students had the freedom to either explore niche industries or venture boldly into uncharted spaces.

The Journey – From Screening to Spotlight

The structure of IdeaSpark was designed to mirror the real-world entrepreneurial process:

1. Online Screening – Every team submitted a PPT of their idea during registration. From these entries, the most promising concepts were shortlisted.
2. On-Campus Elimination – Shortlisted teams pitched their ideas to a panel of SRM faculty evaluators, testing their ability to present with precision and purpose.
3. Final Showcase – The top teams advanced to pitch in front of external judges. Here, creativity was not enough—teams had to show feasibility, scalability, and clarity of thought.

At every stage, participants were met with constructive feedback and probing questions, helping them sharpen their concepts beyond the competition itself.
